Overview

Chulu far-east peak (6060m)   is located in the western development region of Nepal. This is one of the semi-technical peaks mostly for the beginner to intermediate climbers who are looking for expeditions in future. It provides the opportunity to witness various tall mountains/several peaks, amazing landscapes, indigenous culture etc. Another plus point to choose Chulu far-east is that it is not far from the capital & not high in cost compare to the peaks of Everest region. The trail is less crowd, the peak is empty/hardly a very few climbers you see climbing. There will be feeling of no disturbance, no traffic while climbing unlike Khumbu peaks. We cross the highest pass Throng La (5416m) & mountain deserts. The mesmerizing view of mountains from Throng La Pass will lure you & make you feel like heaven on earth.

Arrival

Welcome to the Airport, pick up in a private jeep/car & transfer to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Rest /Trek preparation day

In this day we prepare ourselves as we need proper clothing, equipment, accessories, gears etc. to climb the trekking peak. We will check if there's something missing or need to buy. Stay overnight at hotel.

Drive to Dharapani (1860m) via Besisahar (760m)

It will carry around 6 hours to reach Besisahar & around 4 hours to get Dharapani. The trail is highway until Besisahar & apart from Besisahar it's a mix trail (paved pitch & gravel). Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Chame (2670m)

We walk for like 6-7 hours including rests & lunch crossing the distance of approx. 15 Km. The trail is gradual ascent through beautiful pine, fir & oak forest. witness mountains like Annapurna II (7937m) & Lamjung Himal (6983m). We pass some primitive villages like Bagarchap & Danaque & some suspension bridge. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Upper Pisang (3300m)

The distance between Chame to upper Pisang is 13 Km & will carry 6-7 hours. The trail is moderate & well mentioned with smooth climbs, pine forest & scenic valleys. Panoramic view of mountains like Annapurna II, Lamjung himal, Pisang peak etc. As Upper Pisang is a traditional Tibetan – style village with old monasteries & stupas. Stay overnight at Upper Pisang (3300m). Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Ngawal (3660m)

The distance is approx. 12 Km & we walk 5-6 hours to reach Nagwal from Upper Pisang. The trail is moderate to challenging, however the scenic view from the Ghyaru (3670m) is astonishing & Ngawal (Tibetan influenced architecture & ancient monasteries). Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Chulu Far East Base Camp (4900m)

The distance is approx. 8 Km & we walk 5-6 hours to reach Base Camp from Ngwal. The trail is moderate to challenging as the trail goes steep through the rocky terrain after crossing some juniper forests & yak grazing areas. Stay overnight at Camp/Tent.

Acclimatization / Training Day

More we go up; the air gets thinner & we might be the victim of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). So, to overcome AMS we need to be proper acclimatized in base camp for further the climb well. Also, the training is another important part that should be done while climbing peaks. Familiarization to the mountain gears, terminologies, history/acknowledge of mountaineering so we do few hours of training at Base Camp & we Stay overnight at Camp/Tent.

Trek/Climb to High Camp (5300m)

The trail is not so long compared to other days as we walk around 3-4 hours in a day. Walking an alpine landscape, steep ascent on rock & ice makes you tired & hunger sooner. Stay overnight at Camp/Tent.

Push the Summit (6059m) & back to Base Camp (4900m)

Day 9th will be our success day, as we reach on the summit after ascending 5 to 6 hours from High Camp, we descent carefully to the Base Camp within around 4 to 5 hours. As we start the trek early morning to avoid wind & snow having quick breakfast at High Camp the same camp will be our lunch point. The distance coverage will be approx.10 Km & the trail will be challenging. Overwhelming views of mountains like Annapurna II, III, IV, Tilicho peak, Pisang peak,Lamjung Himal, Chulu West, central, Thorang peak & Tibeatan plateau. We stay overnight at Camp/Tent

Reserve Day

The Reserve Day is most prominent day among all the days. As we all know mountains is not ours, it belongs to the nature. Although there's no any conspiracy to make happen bad, we become unlucky sometimes. There are several issues which lets us wait & watch: Bad weather (Windy, heavy snowfall, whiteout etc) Need more time to acclimatize (not every human body is same, some may need few time more to adapt the altitude)

Trek to Manang (3450m)

The distance between Base Camp to Manang is approx. 12 Km & it will carry around 6-7 hours including rests & lunch. We pass through a beautiful traditional village Braga which consists of Buddism/Tibetan influence & there are various unique monasteries, stupas etc. So far Manang village is also one of the fabulous destinations where you can feel the vibe of city as the village is facilitated with the several services like Bank-ATM, Pub, Bar, Health Post, Bakeries etc. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Yakkharka (4050m)

It will take 5-6 hours from Manang to Yakkharka & the distance is approx. 10 Km. The trail is moderate as the trail goes gradual ascent through alpine landscapes. There's a chance to see the blue sheep, Yaks & Himalayan birds. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Trek to Thorng High Camp (4880m)

The trail is not so long compared to other days as we walk like 4-5 hours. Walking a alpine landscape gradual descent & ascent we reach Thorang base camp (4450m) sooner than other days. There's option that if you want to continue the trek toward Thorang High Camp then we can stay overnight at High Camp too. Stay overnight at guesthouse

Trek to Muktinath via Thorang La Pass (5430m)

Day 9th will be another success day, as we cross Thorang La Pass(5430m) after ascending 4-5 hours from base Camp & rest 3.5 hours to reach Muktinath. As we start the trek early morning to avoid wind & snow having quick breakfast Thorang fedi will be our lunch point. The distance coverage will be approx.17 Km & the trail will be challenging. Overwhelming views of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Thorang peak & Tibeatan plateau. We relax / stay overnight at sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath a great spot for Hindus. Stay overnight at guesthouse

Drive to Pokhara (800m)

We drive to Pokhara from Muktinath by public bus. The distance between Muktinath & Pokhara is about 200 Km & will carry around 8 hours. By passing beautiful old towns like Jhomsomg, Ghasa, Tatopani & mountains like Dhaulagiri, Tukucha, etc. we spend the day in experiencing the mountains roads. Stay overnight at hotel.

Drive to Kathmandu (200 Km)

Duration is 7-8 hours by tourist bus. Stay overnight at hotel.
